Dragon Palace has done it again. When the deadliest tsunami in history devastated South and Southeast Asia, the restaurant's owner, Sin Yung Cheng, and his employees donated one Sunday's proceeds, $9,600, including the employees' wages and tips, to the disaster affected areas. Recently, through the Red Cross, they repeated the feat; this time they raised $7,800 to help Haiti. What a beautiful thing to do. I would like to applaud Mr. Cheng, his employees and friends who surrendered not only their income from that day, but also their only day off. Thanks, too, to the
patrons
who visited the restaurant that day. The Dragon Palace's generosity
is exemplary and inspirational to all of us. JADE KNAPP |
